During this specialty, you will work on structured procedures to locate and safely lift objects. You will learn to plan the operation, coordinate the search, and execute the recovery with method and precision in 2 practical dives in the sea.

What is the Search and Recovery course?

The search and recovery course is one of our diving courses in Malta for certified divers (minimum Open Water) who want to locate and recover objects underwater in a safe and planned way.

The Search and Recovery specialty introduces structured procedures for planning and executing underwater searches, applied in 2 practical dives in the sea under direct supervision.

At the end of the course you will obtain the official Search and Recovery Specialty certification.

What will you learn in the Search and Recovery course?

During the 2 practical dives you will apply structured techniques for locating and recovering objects underwater, developing planning, control and coordination in a real environment.

You will execute the circular, grid and reference patterns of underwater navigation, adapted to visibility, depth and conditions.

You will work on underwater coordination, maintaining reference, line tension and effective communication during the search.

You will practice the secure attachment of the object and the controlled use of the lift bag to perform stable and safe ascents.

You will apply pre-dive protocols, environmental assessment and ascent management to complete the recovery safely.
