Become a certified diver in just 3 or 4 days with the Open Water course. This beginner’s training will teach you to make real dives in the open sea, following a progressive, hands-on program.
At the end of the course, you’ll score the Open Water Diver certification, valid worldwide to dive up to 18 meters deep.
The Open Water Diver is THE entry level of our diving courses in Malta. Learn from scratch and snag an international certification to carry out autonomous dives up to 18 meters.
It’s built for people with zero experience who want to become certified divers by learning the basics of recreational diving with top-notch professional instructors.
The course blasts through in 3 or 4 days (the compact Scuba Diver course, just 1), combining e-learning, confined water sessions and 6 dives, 4 in the open sea.
The Open Water course is developed in three progressive phases: theoretical training, practice in confined waters, and first dives in the open sea.
You'll kick off with theoretical training in e-learning format, laser-focused on the principles of diving, basic safety rules, and how the equipment works.
You'll understand how to breathe underwater, communicate during a dive, and plan simple dives with confidence.
Next up: sessions in confined waters like swimming pools or protected areas to start putting those concepts into action.
You'll practice breathing and buoyancy control, equipment handling, and basic safety skills, gaining confidence before hitting the open sea.
Finally, you'll unleash everything you've learned through a minimum of 6 complete dives, including 4 in the open sea. We'll dive in environments perfectly suited for beginners, always with a pro instructor by your side.
These dives will give you real underwater experience and tick all the boxes to get your Open Water certification.

Our Open Water course includes absolutely everything you need, so you can focus on learning to dive and soaking up the experience from the moment you jump in.
Full access to the e-learning digital system, with all the academic modules needed to complete the theoretical part of the Open Water certification. You can study from home before starting the practice.
A qualified SSI and PADI instructor with you from the first confined water session to the final dive, in groups of no more than four, adapting the pace to how you progress.
Mask, fins, wetsuit, BCD, regulator, and tank. All hand-picked and in killer condition.
Serious diving insurance, transport to dive sites, and Open Water certification. We've got you covered.
Take advantage of your vacation in Malta to take an introductory diving course and become a certified Open Water diver.
The Open Water course is built for people who want to get their fins wet. No experience needed, no special physical condition required. Just know how to swim, be in good general health, and be obsessed with learning to dive and exploring the sea.
The Open Water certification unleashes you to dive with another certified diver or join our guided dives in Malta, to a max depth of 18 meters; no instructor breathing down your neck.
After crushing the course and logging a minimum of 6 dives, you can explore the best dive sites in Malta: breathtaking reefs, incredible caves, fascinating wrecks and world-class seabeds.
The Open Water Diver is the first real step into recreational diving. From this level you can access the Advanced Open Water and specialties to keep leveling up your skills underwater.
Our certified instructors are obsessed with diving and will guide you step by step throughout the course, adapting the learning pace and guaranteeing a safe and personalized experience.
You will learn in some of the best diving spots in Europe. Malta offers crystal clear waters, insane visibility and ideal bottoms to get you started safely from day one.
We use modern diving equipment in excellent condition, periodically checked to ensure safety and comfort throughout the course.
We follow the official SSI and PADI standards, combining e-learning and practice in the water with certified instructors who will guide you step by step until you obtain your Open Water certification.
We work with small groups to ensure close supervision, adapted learning pace and continuous support during all phases of the course.
